Alcantar and Associates has performed Roadway Design work on numerous transportation/street related projects for the City and other government agencies.
Our technical proficiencies and experience includes:
Conceptual Engineering:
• Preparing conceptual engineering drawings illustrating the provision of property access points for short, medium, and long-term access management strategies.
• Preparing capital cost estimates for illustrating the provision of property access points
• Revising existing engineering designs to reflect the draft and final IAMP/AMP.
• Assisting coordination of changes to the project design with other project components.
Final Engineering:
• Providing assistance for the review of preliminary engineering plans for track, roadway, sidewalks, and similar facilities related to, or necessitated by, construction of transportation facilities.
• Providing general civil design support, including the following:
+ Assisting in highway, street and track design for the vertical and horizontal alignment
+ Site Design work, including the design or coordination of appropriate transitions such as walls, grading; parking lot layout and striping to conform the adjacent areas and conform to local jurisdiction requirements.
+ Designing building entrances and driveways, and maintaining communication with Client’s Community Relations’ personnel for changes on affected properties.
+ Technical support during construction
• Providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control support for associated calculations related to storm and curb returns.
• Designing, detailing, and preparing drawings and specifications for demolition plans. In addition, this involves coordinating and resolving conflict issues between existing and proposed conditions for utilities, buildings, wall, and trees, among others.
• Performing all other engineering work required for completion of design and preparation of demolition plans. This entails providing a formal design review, QA/QC, and Cost Estimating.
